The Island Store
The Island Store located just outside the gates of Lyford Cay was founded by John Fondas in 2012. We carry a cross section of furniture, home accessories, tabletop and art. Everything has been selected for a house in the tropics, with a concentration on materials and a palette that work in the Islands. Our space has evolved into an “Aladdin’s Cave” full of hand blocked quilts, rattan and hand printed Fabrics.
Customers include residents of Nassau, Paradise Island and The Family Islands. We ship to Harbour Island, Abaco and the Exuma Cays on a weekly basis. Interior Designers from around the world follow us on social media and visit the store for goods for their projects in the Bahamas and elsewhere.
We also offer interior design services and have worked in such locations as Lyford Cay, Palm Beach, Maine, New York City and Greenwich, CT. John Fondas has had projects published in Architectural Digest, AD Russia, The World of Interiors, House Beautiful and numerous other books and publications. The rooms he creates are full of pattern, natural light and comfort.
The Island Store is a busy meeting place with new stock arriving literally every week of the year. We love the artisans we work with and celebrate objects made by hand.
